While at Play & Learn please remember...

• You are responsible for your child, please be aware of where he/she is at all times.
   
• You are responsible for checking off your family number from the attendance list.
   
• NO pushing, hitting, biting, etc.  Play and Learn is a safe, friendly environment.
   
• Play & Learn begins at 10 a.m.  Though you may see staff there earlier; they are setting up for playgroup and the area is not safe for children at this time.
   
• Upon arrival at Beacon Church, please use main entrance (gym entrance) as other programs located at the church may be in session.  Their privacy is important to them.
   
• Play & Learn has various play areas with toys and/or equipment which need to remain in those play areas.  These include the arts & crafts area, and infant area, a play dough area, and so on.
   
• Please ensure your child does not climb the stairs, play/run on the stage, etc.  We do not want to see anyone getting hurt.
   
• For the safety of your child, please ensure that while eating a snack he/she remains seated at the snack table.  We ask that you please notify us of any food allergies.
   
• Please be aware that you are responsible for cleaning up after your child's/childrens’ snack.  This includes returning cups to the kitchen, putting napkins and leftover snack into the garbage, and checking for any spills on the floor.
   
• Should your child become ill or have an “accident” on the floor or play equipment, please notify the staff immediately.  Cleaning supplies will be available to you.  This will allow for proper cleanup and ensure a safe and healthy play space for all.
   
• A change table is available in the ladies washroom. Please ensure that this is used; we would rather you not use the play mats and stage for changing your baby.  Changing your baby in these areas risks contamination to the areas and makes them unsafe for playing.
   
• If your child is experiencing illness such as diarrhea, fever, vomiting, etc. we hope that you will stay home and load on the TLC!
   
• Please check the Parents’ Place calendar for any scheduled changes.  Should we need to cancel a session, (Church function etc.) we will announce this cancellation on radio station CJLS.
   
• Although our program is for preschoolers 5 and under, we do cancel playgroup when schools are closed due to poor weather conditions.  If you are unable to find childcare for your school-aged children, we advise that you not attend Play & Learn that day.
