Parenting/Caregiver Programs
All of our programs now require registration. Please call the centre at 749-1718 for more information and to register you and/or your child. We appreciate your patience, as some of the programs have waiting lists.

Cooperative Parenting - A Parenting Apart Program
This is intended for parents experiencing, or that have experienced, separation or divorce and focuses on the prevention of their children being caught in the middle. This is an educational co-parenting program helping parents to be aware of the long lasting consequences children face from parental conflicts and loyalty binds due to separation or divorce.
First Steps - A program for parents of infants to toddler promoting healthy parent/child relationships. Group sessions focus on bonding, child development, and the first steps to building a healthy relationship with your child.
Your Preschooler - A program for parents of preschool children age 3-5 years. Group sessions focus on the development of the preschooler and strategies to help support their learning, behavior, and overall well being.
Infant Massage - Learn more about infant massage, the importance of touch, and why it is important for parents and babies. Increasing sensory perception and strengthening parent/infant bonding.
Kids Have Stress Too! - A program to give parents the tools to better understand children’s stress and how it affects their behavior. Often a child’s stress levels and anxiety is masked by other symptoms. Stomach aches, sore throats, behavior problems at school or refusal to go to school. How do you determine if your child is really sick or anxious? “Kids Have Stress Too!” helps parents and children sort through the symptoms, identify the problem, and find a workable solution.
How to Talk So Kids Will Listen - An interactive program to help parents of school-aged children learn new strategies in dealing with inappropriate behavior of their children in their homes and community.
Understanding Feelings - A new program that is being offered for children ages 7-12. We will be exploring the different emotions and learning the tools to be able to deal with these emotions. Some of the topics that will be discussed are: controlling your anger, overcoming shyness, worrying too much, self-control, negative thinking, and more.
1-2-3 Magic - A six-week program for parents of children ages 2-12. It is an easy-to-learn method for handling difficult situations with your child. It provides east-to-follow steps for parents without having to yell and argue with your child. You will learn how to stop behavior that you will need to stop and how to start the behavior you want.
